When first choosing a puppy  vets and dog breeders will emphasize how important it is to choose a reputable breeder,because a puppy’s first 16 weeks are crucial to the dogs temperament and behavior for the rest of his life.

First 8 weeks

The first 8 weeks with the breeder will form a large part of the dogs personality, how  he plays and interacts with his mother, siblings and any humans that may be around will determine his personality for the rest of his life,bad breeders who are cruel

or neglectful to the puppies will cause the puppies to lack confidence be  unsociable and harder to train .

Second 8 weeks

The next 8 weeks will be with his new owner and unless the owner teaches the puppy how to socialize with his new family other pets and other dogs, the puppy could end up lacking confidence or becoming aggressive or nervous.

Correct socialization

A dog without the correct socialization would be confined to the yard and be aggressive and snappy towards people and other dogs. .

It is the responsibility of the puppy owner to train the puppy from the moment he arrives in the home  how to interact with his new  family and other pets.

Stay away from playing games such as tug o war where the puppy always wins because your puppy will think hes above you in the pack (he instinctively sees your family as a pack) because that’s how dogs relate to their peers and if he starts to believe he is dominant over you or other members of your family he will try to show his position of dominance by acting aggressively as he grows older..

Correct puppy obedience training

If you as a puppy owner teach your puppy correct obedience training techniques and correct socialization techniques then your dog will be a happy and adjusted part of your family, who interacts with you,  your family members,  friends and  other pets and dogs without aggression or fear.
