Jack Russell Training
Jack Russells are small intelligent energetic dogs they can be extremely loyal and will fight with persistence often taking on much larger dogs.
Jack Russells were originally bred to flush foxes from their lairs without mauling them during fox hunts.
They have fiery temperaments and are very scrappy to other dogs they seem to always see themselves as the alpha dog in any situation.
I have always found them hard to train because they are so confident that they are the dominant party.
With careful persistent training a Jack Russell will become a very loyal and intelligent companion, they make good lap dogs but do need a fair amount of exercise they love to play and use their intelligence they particularly like obstacle type activities.
Jack Russell Training
Owning a Jack Russell the down side :-
- They are convinced they are alpha dominant
- They are overconfident and will often fight dogs many times their own size
- They are stubborn and hard to control without proper training
- they need quiet a lot of exercise for a small dog
- They tend to latch on to one person and can become very jealous
Jack Russells are my favorite dog and I own two of them they are the most loyal and protective of my dogs and the most intelligent I would recommend them to anyone but you must train them properly otherwise they become too hard to control and will challenge you constantly for dominance. click here for Jack Russell Training
