Dog breeds training

Dog breeds training

When choosing a dog breed you should pay careful attention to the sort of breed that will fit in with your lifestyle for instance have you the time and ability to walk a large energetic dog or is it a small lap dog you are looking for.

I am always surprised at the amount of people i see who buy a puppy because it looks so cute and cuddly only to realize that when the puppy has grown into an adult dog that he costs too much to keep or they haven t the space or the time to walk him.

You need to know what sort of dog you are going to choose and what sort of temperament will suit you ,some dog breeds are naturally more aggressive than others and would suit better as protectors or guard dogs.

Dog breeds training

When choosing a dog breed you should be aware of:-

  • The size of the dog when he is fully grown do you have the space.
  • How much exercise the dog will need to you have the time and ability to walk him.
  • The cost of keeping your dog food bills vet bills pet insurance vaccinations etc.
  • The temperament of the dog are you looking for an aggressive dog temperament ora more placid nature.
  • Do you need a dog that will get on with your family especially consider smallchildren some dogs tend to be more aggressive and some more jealous .

Always choose a good breeder when choosing a dog breed bad breeders and puppy farms can produce dogs lacking confidence and basic socialization skills and other skills that a dog from a reputable breeder would take into consideration a puppy needs the first 8 weeks with his mother and siblings and preferably some socialization to humans other wise he will lack confidence be nervous and much harder to train.
