Aggressive dog behavior
what is aggressive dog behavior -
most dogs are well behaved family pets, but it must be understood they are at heart pack animals, they are born with pack animal instincts programmed into them and to your dog the family he lives with are his pack, he has to figure out his place in the pack, a dog may become aggressive to humans or other dogs because he is challenging the dominance of the pack and showing that he holds a higher position of importance than the person or animal he is challenging.

Early signs of aggressive dog behavior-
Strange as it sounds some owners have aggressive dogs without really realising, what I mean by this is that their dogs are showing early signs of aggression, that if not nipped in the bud could lead to much more serious problems when they get older, for instance playing games such as tug o war where the puppy wins is programming your dog that he is the alpha leader of the pack [your family] because he wins and dominates in these sort of games .
The pack leader-
Dogs are at heart pack animals and pack animals have to have a leader to survive, from an early age your dog will probably try to show its dominance over you, make it plain to him who is the dominant leader and he will follow your commands that is why reputable dog training techniques should be followed so that your dog will learn what is expected of him .
Aggressive toward children-
I have often seen dogs respect their owners as the dominant leader in the household while at the same time act aggressively and growl or nip the children of the house because the dog sees himself as dominant over them. It is very important to train your dog so that he knows his place in your family.
The warning signs=
Its a good idea to watch out for the early warning signs that indicate your dog could be challenging you or a member of your family or other people or dogs
Some of The Signs – if they occur anytime, anyplace, directed at any animal or thing. Any of these warnings could mean the dog could bite:
- Snapping
- Snarling
- Mounting people
- Lung ing
- Growling
- Barking aggressively
- Biting
- Blocking your path
What to do-
Catching these symptoms in the early stages is a must as it is much easier to stop a puppy acting aggressively than it is a fully grown dog especially larger dog breeds
